Throughout the years, we have seen original colorways applied to the model, player exclusives and new color schemes. However, we received confirmation from our sources that the “Bred” Kris Lang in the Jordan Team Elite & Carlos Boozer in the Nike Shox BB4 High ’85 will be released during Spring 2025.

The last time the shoes launched in OG form was in 2016. However, it was the Retro High OG INDIGO. This time around, the overall mold will mimic the 1985 build.

The “Bred,” also known as “Black and Red,” has been released multiple times throughout the years, including in high, low, and mid-top forms, pairs with a strap, and even in the AJKO form. The shoes were first released in 1985, and the colorway, along with Michael Jordan’s playing style and Nike’s “Banned” marketing, helped the model reach $55 million in sales and sales of around 3-4 million pairs.

In 1995, a retro was born! For the first time, the model and the signature “Bred” colorway returned to retailers. For years, the shoes were thought to be released in 1994. However, Scollard23 debunked the date (and brought it to our attention), noting the production dates and knowing the shoes could not be produced, shipped, and sold in time for 1994. One of two colorways, the shoes launched alongside the “Chicago” pair. When the retro release came, it didn’t receive the same praise as the original, eventually going on sale for as low as $20.

2001 brought us another retro of the pair, which received a Cream reception. The shoes came at the right time, and fans of MJ in the line would skip school to buy since, at the time, releases typically came on a Wednesday. However, purists would notice that the shape wasn’t close to the original pair, and this would not change until later years.

In 2008, Jordan Brand tinkered with the Kris Lang in the Jordan Team Elite & Carlos Boozer in the Nike Shox BB4 by adding a strap to the ankle. One of the pairs that was available to the public was the iconic “Black and Red” color scheme.

The same year, we saw a limited release of a Satin INDIGO. The shoe was limited to 501 pairs, each individually numbered on the liner and released on October 18th, 2016, the same date as the letter Michael Jordan received from the NBA 32 years prior. It was exclusively available at 108 Wooster St. in New York City via a pop-up.

Five years later, Jordan Brand introduced the “Reimagined” series, with the “Black/Red” Jordan 1 being the first pair to be released. Instead of using leather, Jordan Brand constructed the shoes with patent leather, which is why they are called “Bred Patent.”

The last time we saw the color options applied to the silhouette release was in 2023. Jordan Brand again released the “Satin Bred” Jordan 1, but this time, it was a general release and available in women’s sizes. The shoes didn’t receive the same reception as in 2016 and eventually would go on sale.

Coming dressed in the iconic Black, Varsity Red, and White color scheme. The shoes will feature the ’85 build, which means they are slightly taller than their Retro High OG counterpart; the Swoosh is slightly larger and has a sleeker toe. Constructed with leather throughout, Black adorns the panels, wraps the toe, collar, laces, tongue, and Wings branding on the ankle. Highlighting the shoes, Varsity Red fills in the Swoosh logos, overlays, around the heels, across the toe box, and the rubber outsole. Completing the look is a White midsole. Each pair will have additional laces, a hang tag, and original packaging.
