adidas Skateboardingย announces a dual-release with Pro riders, Nora Vasconcellos and Maiteฬ Steenhoudt, that unveils their respective colorways for two iconic silhouettes from the brandโs archives โย Gazelle ADV by Noraย andย Samba ADV by Maiteฬ. In celebration of International Womenโs Day and theย brandโs pale commitment to empowering female athletes,ย both timeless models have been reimagined and updated for skateboarding.
The adidas Gazelle, reimagined for Skateboarding by Nora Vasconcellos. Sophisticated materialization meets retro details for a timeless look. A white leather upper is paired with a nubuck suede t-toe and heel tab for a high-end finish. The exposed foam padded tongue and gum overlay nods to classic skateboarding style. Vasconcellosโ original art on the heel tab and sockliner adds her personal touch to the iconic design.
The adidas Samba, updated for the first time for skateboarding by Maitรฉ Steenhoudt. Capturing the classic elements of the original Samba, Steenhoudtโs design features a black suede upper with white leather stripes. Wanting the shoe to look better with wear, Steenhoudt added a hidden layer under the t-toe that reveals color as you wear it down. A handwritten โSambaโ and original artwork on the sockliner add a personal touch to the iconic look.
The Gazelle ADV by Nora and Samba ADV by Maitรฉ will release at specialty skate retailers and adidas.com/skateboarding on March 16th. The retail price is $100 for the Gazelle and $80 for the Samba.
