This latest Ewing 33 Hi collab for Felicia “Snoop” Pearson, reported on earlier this week, marks the second sneaker project Ewing Athletics has released with an actor from the historic HBO series The Wire.
Fresh off a collaboration with Anwan Glover (Big G), better known as Slim Charles from The Wire, Ewing has released the 33 Hi ‘Baltimore’. This limited edition release celebrates Pearson’s hometown and features the colors of the Maryland state flag.
“It’s a dream come true,” said Felicia “Snoop” Pearson. “I would have never thought I’d have my own joint. I’m doing it for the city — Maryland flag shorty!”
The shoe was designed by David Goldberg, president of Ewing Athletics, but Pearson came with the idea to honor the Maryland state flag. The red has been made a bit darker to match the Washington Redskins colors.
“It was an organic thing like most of our projects,” David Goldberg, President of Ewing Athletics told WearTesters. “She is from Baltimore, one of our biggest markets, but lives in the NYC area now so it made wisdom considering we had done the Big G one previously.”
The shoe is available now for $140 at EwingAthletics.com in men’s sizes 5 to 16. The shoe will also be launching in the Baltimore area with in-store events at Shoe City locations tomorrow.
