The Kizik Athens is likely a shoe from a brand you’ve never even heard of, yet much more famous brands like Nike use their technology. This shoe and review remind us that we, sneakerheads, are such a niche market and we’re not necessarily the target market for most of shoe brands. The average/general consumer also needs shoes, and convenient ones at that. The Athens offers that convenience and much more.
Check out Chris’s thoughts on the Athens in the video and article.

Not a very good review. The alleged “comfort” from a very thin insole doesn’t impress me. You would destroy this in short order. The upper toe textile will not last long either. There is much more to a shoe then the “on and off” issue. You need it to last, be well built (especially at this price) and protect your feet adequately. This isn’t a user review, it’s a propaganda video. We’ve all seen them, it’s the non-stop garbage being used to sell products.
We didn’t receive any compensation from Kizik for this review. We don’t make recommendations about buying, instead presenting all the information and tech of the shoe. Feet are different between people and we all have our various footwear preferences.
As you can see from our site and channel, we’ve reviewed shoes for over 10 years now. In the video, Chris discusses both the pros and cons of the Kizik Athens. He’s straightforward about the midsole foam not being super soft. But a super soft midsole is not equal to comfort for everyone. We recommend listening to ALL the information stated during the review and then making your own buying decision based on how you like a shoe to feel.
