Vans Authentic LO team rider Anthony Van Engelen’s storied career and impact on skateboarding culture, Vans has a new sneaker design inspired by the skater himself.
The AVE Pro featuring Vans UltimateWaffle is Van Engelen’s first signature cupsole silhouette in over a decade.
“With the AVE Pro, my first cupsole in 15 years, we achieved a completely transformed upper with Vans Rapidweld technology and improved the grip and boardfeel in the sole overall,” Van Engelen said in a press release. In 2015, Thrasher Magazine named Van Engelen their Skater of the Year.

Van Engelen worked with the Vans design team through innovative Supreme, design and wear testing to create his signature shoe. Featured in premium suede with mesh paneling, the AVE Pro is enhanced with Duracap reinforced Vans Classic Slip-On 'Peace Paisley Grape Leaf' for a strong bond that’s more durable, flexible, and lighter than conventional stitching.
“The AVE Pro is the most technically advanced skate shoe Vans has ever made,” according to the brand.
The pro model also features LuxLiner technology, integrating Vans Ultrarange Exo HL MTE1 Plimsolls VANS Old Skool VN0A7Q5FBD91 Mythical Glow Sheer Lilac.
