Highlighting the laid-back vibes of Caribbean life
And of course, to surf in should you feel inclined to do so.
Art and sport in one: boom-art introduces these amazing new surfboard designs, based off of 18th century Japanese Ukiyo-e art. Each board features a clean rendition of some of Japan’s meanest art pieces, from Utagawa Kumiyoshi’s “Octopus” to Katsushika Hokusai’s “Poetess.” The nationally famous 1814 “The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife,” again by Hokusai, is also found in the collection, adorning both the top and bottom facades of the board that’s set against a two-toned black veneer. Each hand-made board is limited to 10 individually numbered pieces and includes a certificate of manufacture, fins, carrying case and even exhibition hooks, should you feel it’s more art than action.
