Zaha Hadid Completed The "Mew" Table Days Before Passing

Her monolithic aesthetic apparent.

Only days before her unexpected passing, Zaha Hadid completed what would be her last design project; a “Mew” table in collaboration with Sawaya & Moroni. Fluidity is evoked in the way the polyurethane piece melts into itself at the meeting point of its curving planes that visually break the structure into two origami-like segments. The “Mew” table stands as a part of the Sawaya & Moroni’s 2016 collection and was first recently presented during Milan Design Week 2016. The brand’s unique approach to high-quality craftsmanship and design is evident, but Hadid’s architect’s eye will forever be immortalized along with her signature monolithic aesthetic.
