Meet McDonald's Oldest Employee: A 92-Year-Old Great-Grandmother
“I plan to keep working for as long as I am healthy.”
In celebration of the extraordinary women in our lives we’ll be honoring this Mother’s Day, we present to you Goh Gwek Eng. Beyond taking care of her five children, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, the 92-year-old great-grandmother also happens to be McDonald’s Art begets art fast-food giant’s franchises that’s a 20-minute walk from her home. She’s been there for 18 years since 1998, after most of her family flew the nest, leaving her bored.
“Now that most of them are working or have their own families, the house is very quiet,” she tells the Strait Times. “My colleagues help me when they see me carrying heavy things or when I can’t keep up with orders. I plan to keep working for as long as I am healthy.”
