Leave it to Demna Gvasalia to repurpose Thai laundry bags — after all, the man stole a security guard’s T-shirt to cover T Magazine. It should extend without surprise that part of Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection bore an uncanny resemblance to traditional Thai laundry bags.
The lineup included a large ($2,525 USD), medium ($1,645 USD) and small ($1495 USD) Bazar alongside two wallets. Gvasalia was oblivious, citing:
“This is just a prototype, but the number of people who have stopped me in the street to ask where it’s from. Even an old lady came up to tell me this morning that she had the same one at home. I thought, ‘I don’t think it is…”
