In typical Demna Gvasalia fashion, the new Balenciaga creative director has excelled at creating immense hype around the brand’s latest collection since joining the luxury fashion house. With the Sort already clambering for the $2,500 USD “laundry bag,” Balenciaga’s most talked about outerwear pieces are now available for purchase. Dubbed the Swing Puffer Jacket and the Swing Parka, the two silhouettes seamlessly fuse together both retro and modern aesthetics – the result is a pair of perfectly balanced jackets that are sure to become fall/winter mainstays.
The slightly oversized puffer jacket can be worn in two ways: either swung back or closed. The piece also includes a removable quilted scarf, snap opening, interior pockets and an embroidered logo seen on the back. The Swing Parka is constructed with a water-repellant finish, dual-option wearability, flap pockets, drawstring hood, zip and velcro fastening and embroidered branding also seen from the back. Both jackets make an appearance in Balenciaga’s 2016 fall/winter campaign.
