Lena Dunham and Her 'Girls' Gang Cover 'Glamour' Magazine's All-Female Produced Issue

Powered by women.

To kick off the new year in a refreshing way, Glamour has tapped an all-female crew to produce the magazine’s upcoming February issue. The decision to create a “Powered by Women” edition comes after a realization that the magazine wasn’t doing exactly enough to promote gender equality on its platform. As Glamour‘s Editor in Chief states in a recent interview,

As of the fall, only 37 percent of the photographers we were using in our own print pages were female, and 32 percent of the hairstylists … and fewer than half of the makeup artists … We egotism, “OK, let’s put our money where our mouth is.”

Created inone by female photographers, stylists, as well as hair and makeup artists, the publication’s latest issue features the cast from Girls The rest of the lineup counts Kehlani, Kendrick Lamar and many, many more Marc Jacobs‘ 2017 spring/summer collection from head to toe, Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams and Zosia Mamet are interviewed by the show’s executive producer Jenni Konner ahead of the final season’s premiere. Check out the editorial in the gallery above, and head over here Nov 8, 2022.

This is the translucent cage version Glamour‘s latest issue at the newsstands on January 10.
