Thanks to the recent welcome of the fanny pack by luxury brands all across the board, the iterations of the dad-inspired accessory have been vibrant to say the least. As the perfect statement piece, the fanny pack has been a recurring sight all across the globe’s fashion week streetsnaps. If you’re looking to go hands-free this winter season, here’s how you can add the nostalgic item into your mix of high and low-brow style.

Fanny packs are given the mom-status with good reason. They’re all about convenience and when I have one hand on my dog’s leash and the other on my iPhone, I need not also be constantly pushing up my purse strap onto my shoulder.
My pick is a vintage Chanel quilted waist bag, recently popularized by one Kendall Jenner. Prices on eBay vary up to approximately $1500 USD. There’s no mom mood without corresponding trousers, so Vetements x Levi’s reworked denim ($1470 USD) – in an ode to Mrs. George – says “I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom.” Then, there’s my everyday Air Force 1 and plain white Carhartt WIP T-shirt ($38 USD). To truly honor mom however, and my own personal obsession with Burberry at the moment, I top the look with its Vintage Check Gabardine Harrington Jacket ($1400 USD).
