Instagram's "Favorites" Feature Kind of Reminds Us of the Myspace Top 8
Who would you add to yours?
After introducing Archive, Instagram is testing another feature that will affect the way your feed is presented: “Favorites.”
“Favorites” is the photo-sharing app’s solution to let users share posts and Stories with a select group of friends, rather than your entire following — something some have gone so far as to create entirely separate accounts to do. The new feature is pretty self-explanatory: you can choose certain followers to be your “Favorites,” which almost sounds like Myspace’s Top 8 to us. The difference is on Instagram, you’ll have the option to upload content that only your exclusive few will see, and those posts will appear with a green badge on your feed itself. They will also show up within a new tab on your profile, but it will appear empty to anyone who is not your “Favorite.”
This new function is being tested now, so check for any updates to see if it’ll be available to everyone on Instagram soon.
