Get a Backstage Look at HOPE's 2018 Spring/Summer Show
The brand goes genderless at Stockholm Fashion Week.
Last season, we previewed a look at HOPE’s 2017 fall/winter presentation and for 2018 spring/summer, the Stockholm-based brand is back with another strong collection that blurs the boundaries between genders and seasons and focuses instead on a sense of individuality, comfort and style.
Inspired by the concept of mistakes and “what happens within the gaps of what’s expected,” the brand has taken its non-gendered approach to dressing to the next level – all of the garments feature sizing information for both men and women. True to its seasonless take on fashion, each look could easily be deconstructed to work just as well in summer as the winter months. Tailored jackets and fitted pants were contrasted by oversized silhouettes in softer, draped fabrics and structured utilitarian pieces in khaki were paired with plaid shirts to create a look that was both practical and eclectic. Key looks included an oversized knitted orange sweater teamed with loose-fit orange pants and a cropped gray hoodie that was given a contemporary update by being paired with a utility-style light gray skirt, cinched at the waist with an orange belt. Overall, HOPE‘s collection was yet again a perfect amalgamation of Scandinavian sensibility and progressive appeal.
