According to, the luxury label will be completely omitting animal fur for the its Fall 2019 collection. The removal of animal fur will include mink, coyote, fox and rabbit fur.
The new decision is aligned with a growing conversation within the fashion industry. Retailers including Net-a-Porter and Farfetch, have also previously committed to no longer stocking animal fur. Coach will not be negatively affected by the business move. BoF reports fur makes up less than one percent of the brand’s womenswear ready-to-wear business.
In an official statement, Coach chief executive, Joshua Schulman spoke about the fur-free commitment:
“We understood from our employee population and from our consumers, that it was important to them that we take a stand on this issue. We’re doing it because we believe it’s the right thing to do.”
