Behind-The-Scenes Backstage at Dior Men's Pre-Fall 2019 Show
Featuring a “robot” version of the Saddle Bag.
We’ve already taken an exclusive look front row at Dior Men’s latest Pre-Fall 2019 show in Tokyo, but we now go backstage to take a closer view at some of the highlights from Kim Jones‘ latest collection. Among the array of covetable accessories spotted backstage, some of the most exciting pieces are of course from the fashion house’s head jewelry designer, Yoon Ahn. From a chrome-like pendant in the shape of a “robo-dog,” to biomechanic-inspired pieces “embedded” directly onto the model’s skin, the amount of detail given to each and every look is truly remarkable.
Aside from the jewelry, we also got to inspect some of the program’s forthcoming offering of bags and footwear. Emblazoned atop a blue, monogram-covered cross-body bag is a T-Rex figure rendered in true Hajime Sorayama fashion – the collaborating artist featured in Jones’ latest show. Splashed across other sections of the bag are cherry blossom graphics that mirror the designer’s floral motif introduced at his inaugural SS19 show at Paris Fashion Week Men’s, albeit this time around with distinct Japanese flair. Of course, we can’t forget to mention one of the most memorable pieces spotted on the runway: a metallic version of the cult-status The Creative Come Up, which is introduced this time around with plenty of mechanical accents.
Other highlights include the latest footwear designs, including an edgy-chic leather boot embellished with plenty of rollercoaster buckles from 1017 ALYX 9SM‘s Matthew Williams, another returning collaborator of Jones. Rounding off the backstage gallery are closer looks at a roster of tactical vests, garments featuring art from Sorayama, and more. Take a look at the images above to immerse yourself in the latest from Dior Men’s.
