Gigi Hadid Rocks an '80s Mullet on 'W' Magazine's Holiday Issue Cover

rdquo; to &ldquo Versace and Victoria’s Secret, Gigi Hadid is rounding out the year by gracing the cover of W magazine in a way we’ve never seen her before. On the front page, and accompanying editorial spread, the model trades her signature chic, wavy hair for a dramatic bleach blonde and black layered mullet, channelling legendary Blondie front-woman, Debbie Harry.
In the editorial, Hadid’s sartorial style is heavily inspired by ’80s glam rock with a luxurious yet contemporary twist, fusing together Chanel and Gucci with show-stopping metallic pieces by Isabel Marant. The spread is complemented by an interview in which Hadid shares everything from her dream super-power (teleportation) and the only person to leave her starstruck (Kobe Bryant). She also opened up about her career, and her hopes to build a longstanding legacy, stating:
“I’ve always studied how models made pictures. It’s always been important to me to make a picture better. I can look at a shot and see where I fit into it, what I can add to the picture. I don’t want to be just another person on the page. I want people to see the new picture with me and one day remember it the way we remember these pictures of Debbie Harry.”
