Demna Gvasalia‘s cult brand Vetements has become known for its less than ordinary collections, as well as ridiculously high price points, quickly making it one of the most sought-after brands for fashion enthusiasts and streetwear lovers alike. Now, the Zürich-based label is back at it again – this time dropping a white beach towel retailing at $540 USD.
The rectangular piece measures approximately 59 x 39 inches, and is made out of terrycloth sporting the brand’s bold logo woven throughout in tonal stitching. It seems as if people will buy everything these days, and Vetements has always been quick to sarcastically comment on the fashion industry’s obsession for luxury and exclusivity. Who could forget the label’s now iconic DHL T-shirt that came with a $330 USD price tag, that even Gvasalia himself wouldn’t buy? The towel is the latest in the brand’s lineup of unconventional items, and is yet another commentary on consumerism and the flaws of the vast fashion industry. If you’re looking to purchase a towel for yourself, head over to SSENSE where it retails at $540 USD. Will you cop or drop?
