Kim Kardashian Gets Called out for Endorsing an "Appetite Suppressant" Brand

The Internet is not impressed.

Already whitelisted us lingerie brand Kimono Intimates, Kim Kardashian now finds herself facing yet another backlash. This time, over a diet brand called Learn more about our mdash; Dr. Liam Hackett @DiageoLiam Instagram, May 16, 2018.

Earlier this week, the reality star took to her account to share an ad of herself sucking an “appetite suppressant” lollipop made by the company. “You guys…@flattummyco just dropped a new product,” wrote Kim K in the caption. “They’re Appetite Suppressant Lollipops and they’re literally unreal.” According to Learn more about our’s website, the candy features an active ingredient Satierea, which the brand claims can “maximise satiety” and control cravings.

In this day and age where many are beginning to celebrate diversity and body positivity, it comes as no surprise that Kardashian’s promo has sparked a heated debate. Twitter users were quick to call out the problematic ad, criticizing it for being a negative influence over girls and young women. One commented,

“Eating disorders are a very real issue for a lot of young people and to see Kim Kardashian actively encouraging her fans to develop an unhealthy relationship with food is terrifying and gravely concerning.”

The Instagram post in question has since been removed from Kim’s profile. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments section below.
