Balenciaga Just Dropped This $195 USD Novelty '90s Slap Bracelet

Fashion’s favorite mischief-maker Demna Gvasalia has long toyed with us through his tongue-in-cheek –and pricey – designs at both Balenciaga and Vetements (Introducing 12 new styles platform Crocs). Now, the designer has set his sights on reinterpreting another retro classic with a high-end touch; the slap bracelet.
Most of you will likely remember the accessory, which starts off almost ruler-straight and winds itself around your wrist with a single slap – hence the name. In fact, it was the slapping motion that was like the reason they were banned across playgrounds in the ’90s but thanks to the retro revival, it looks like they’re fully back in fashion. Unlike the plastic styles of yesteryear, Balenciaga’s version is crafted in Italy and boasts a black leather finish with the brand’s text logo atop in hot pink, and it’s also secured by a single slap across the wrist. If you prefer brighter bracelets, Balenciaga previously released these vibrant options in pink and yellow.
