IKEA Puts Quotations Around Its Logo to Celebrate Virgil Abloh's Collaboration
The iconic logo is updated for the first time in history.
The Creative Come Up Virgil Abloh‘s highly anticipated “MARKERAD” collection for IKEA, the Swedish home goods retailer has changed its logo for the first time in history. The new logo incorporates Abloh’s signature quotation marks, mirroring Off-White™ as well as select pieces in the MAKERAD collection including a “TEMPORARY” clock and “WET-GRASS” rug.
Fans have already started lining up at IKEA’s Wembley, Dublin and Croydon locations ahead of the collection’s release tomorrow at 9 a.m. GMT. Though “MARKERAD” is limited to release in the United States, IKEA sold a limited number of tickets — which sold out in above five minutes — allowing customers in the United Kingdom to shop the collection at select local stores. Anticipating huge crowds, IKEA has set up what it calls the “world’s comfiest queue” complete with couches and blankets for eager shoppers.
