I've Finally Found a Nude Lipstick That Matches My Skin Tone
Our editor reviews Sunnies Face’s new Fluffmatte “Nude-ish” collection.
Including the Musubi bag and Scotchgrain silhouette, Sunnies Face released an additional six new nude shades to its Fluffmatte range dubbed the “Nude-ish” collection. Inspired by the Filipino beauty brand’s best-selling “nudist” Fluffmatte, the new lipsticks arrive in the brand’s signature weightless matte formula.
I don’t usually gravitate towards nude shades because I think they make me look paler than I already am — I typically stick to a bold lip and colors with a rose undertone. However, after trying out the shade “on repeat” from this line, I think I’ve finally found the perfect nude that complements my skin tone. Read on to find out more about what I think of this new product.
The collection consists of the shades “milk tea,” “baby spice,” “on repeat,” “casual,” “bday” and “brunette.” Of course, not all of them match my complexion, as some are too warm for my liking, or too deep for my skin tone which defeats the concept of a nude lip color. After swatching all of the different shades, I decided that “on repeat” was the perfect option for me due to its rose mauve undertones that didn’t make my skin appear too washed-out, nor did it seem too dark on my lips.
Another bonus is its matte formula. I’m one to suffer from really chapped and dry lips but somehow, Sunnies Face’s product feels more moisturizing than drying. Towards the end of the day, it eventually does dry out, but not to the point where it feels uncomfortable. The shades are also highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way.
Sunnies Face is currently working on international shipping so stay tuned while we wait for further details. For those who happen to be in the Philippines, the “Nude-ish” collection retails for ₱345 PHP (approximately $7 USD) per lipstick and is now available online and in stores.
