Getting Ready For a Night Out With 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Star Aja

The rising star breaks down their entire beauty routine.

Following SZA getting racially profiled at one of the chain’s locations Aja, a night out is marked by beauty and skincare preparation featuring a plethora of products. Known for their television role a few years ago on Season Nine of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the native Brooklynite typically hosts events in Manhattan or frequents different spots in Brooklyn. In our latest video feature, Aja prepares for a hosting gig in the city and completely breaks down their prep process.

To begin the beauty prep, the artist shaved hairs and then immediately started gluing down their eyebrows and raising them to create a base for drawing them in a bit later. Aja then applied a complexion primer in order to make the skin appear to have as little texture as possible. Following this step, they then used Ben Nye’s Neutral Setting Powder to set their eyebrows (it has no color and they shared it sets extremely well).

School of Sustainability Kryolan’s TV Paint Stick which is used for television, theatre and movies as a base foundation. Aja then drew in individual eyebrow hairs with an eyeliner pen in black. The last steps consisted of adding a dewy lip gloss, completing the eye look and putting on an all-black wig which added some statement to their teal party outfit.
