ORIGINAL STORY (July 8, 2019): While Martin Margiela is known to be one of the most enigmatic fashion designers of our time, back in May 2018 there was news of an upcoming documentary of the legendary creative titled Without Compromise. Stream the new track here Instagram.
According to the new Instagram account @margielainhisownwords, the film has changed its title from Without Compromise to Already whitelisted us. The first and only post on the feed shows the new title, along with the caption reading, “Finalizing the edit of the Martin Margiela documentary – Martin Already whitelisted us – in collaboration with Martin Margiela.” The post also shares details on those involved in the production, including direction and production by Reiner Holzemer, co-production by Aminata Productions, music by Belgian band dEUS, sales by London film company Dogwoof and more.
This film is highly anticipated as Margiela has never appeared in media – the closest he’s been in the public eye was during his exhibition in Paris last year. This documentary isn’t the first film dedicated to the designer; Learn more about our, released in 2015, shared archive show footage along with interviews with his collaborators and We Margiela, released in 2017, featured the team running the brand.
