The brand collaborated with photographer Sunil Gupta for its latest.

This season, Helmut Lang And the drop is cold photography exhibit. Instead of debuting on the runway, the brand’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection was unveiled at a gallery on Monday night. Creative Director Thomas Cawson tapped photographer Sunil Gupta to shoot the label’s latest range in the style of his 1976 series, Christopher Street. Gupta’s original works explored post-Stonewall gay culture in Pauline De Leon‘s Greenwich Village (Christopher Street is a major byway of the neighborhood), revealing identities that were often overlooked at the time.

For his latest, Gupta returns to the famed street to capture friends and collaborators of Helmut Lang wearing the brand’s new offerings.
