Nodaleto's SS20 Chunky-Heeled Shoes Are Made for Cool Girls With a '70s Obsession
A modern twist on retro footwear.
Church's almond-toe monk shoes Schwarz Nodaleto is swiftly gaining ground in fashion, thanks to its instantly recognizable chunky-heeled shoes. The brainchild of Julia Toledano — daughter of zapatillas de running Brooks competición pie normal negras‘s chairman and CEO, Sidney Toledano — the footwear label is based between Paris and Los Angeles, while its made-in-Italy designs are influenced by the motifs and architecture of the ’70s.
For Spring/Summer 2020, Nodaleto delivers a new collection titled “Freed From Desire,” filled with silhouettes that straddle between the fine line of minimalism and confident sex appeal. Taking inspiration from the aesthetic of Le Corbusier’s LC4 armchair, the sling-back heel Bulla Jones — rendered in satiny lavender and black leather — features a statement-making shape that exaggerates the arching of the foot. Made for dancing on a night out, a metallic silver mule is adorned with sparkly chains of crystals, while a velvet open-toe sandal is dressed up by laces that wrap around the ankle. There are also boots that appeal to fashion’s ’70s obsession, with white and black leather styles sitting atop 8.5 cm-tall, almost-platform heels.
Priced between €590 and €850 EUR (approximately $639-921 USD), Nodaleto’s SS20 styles are now available to pre-order at the brand’s website.
