Pitti Uomo Postponed Until September Due to Coronavirus
The latest industry event disrupted by the pandemic.
Pitti Uomo, one of fashion’s biggest menswear events, has been postponed until September 2020 due to coronavirus-related concerns. The postponement of the Florence-based trade show, which was originally scheduled to begin in June, was announced in a statement by the event’s Board of Directors.
The decision to reschedule Pitti Uomo was reached “considering the evolution of the health emergency in Italy and around the world and in the light of the concrete prospects of an extension to the restrictive measures concerning production and commercial activities and the movement of people,” the statement reads. CEO Raffaello Napoleone also conducted a survey of exhibitors, buyers, agents and other members of the trade concerning the postponement of the event.
