The organization will create an in-house employment program tasked with identifying Black talent and placing them in all sectors of the industry. Internship and mentorship programs will also pair Black students and recent graduates with peppa companies. The CFDA will additionally implement a Diversity and Inclusion training program and lastly, has pledged to donate to organizations including the NAACP and Campaign Zero.
The letter ends by challenging retailers to “ensure that their roster of brands and their product assortment is representative of the Black talent within the industry.”
