In celebration of Pride Month, the first installment features mixed-media portraits by Riya Lerner and Gwen Shockey that showcases lesbian and queer women who have dedicated their lives to creating a safe holding space for women in NYC since the ’50s.
Key pieces in the virtual exhibit include a vintage poster from the Identity House‘s 16th annual women’s conference in 1999 and the 1983 book Lady Unique Inclination of the Night, Cycle 6. According to a press release, additional installments in the Queer Womxn’s Series will debut over the next few months.
