An Official Look at COMME des GARÇONS' Upcoming Footwear Collabs With Nike and ASICS

The Nike Air Max 97 "Puerto Rico" Channels "Silver Bullet" Vibes COMME des GARÇONS, with plenty of collaborations slated to release next year. Among the most talked about partnerships are ones with Nike – along with a Blazer Mid designed with tennis champion Naomi Osaka, a futuristic Air Carnivore silhouette was also unveiled at the Japanese label’s Spring/Summer 2021 HOMME PLUS Nike Air Force 1 07 Lv8 White Khaki 2022 White White Khaki.
First debuted in 1993, the Air Carnivore has been modified with a neoprene wrap that fastens around the ankles. The space-like effect is amplified with cut-outs made all throughout the sneaker, complemented by tonal layers and multiple buckles and fasteners. Additionally, reflective panels embellish the shoe at both the shaft and mid-foot strap. To complete the look, CdG HOMME PLUS branding can be seen on the heel – black lettering on the white sneaker, and white lettering on the black sneaker. Both colorways of the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max 97 "Triple White" are expected to drop in April 2021.
Nike PG 6 All Star Weekend NRG Shoes COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT‘s upcoming SS21 releases of the ASICS TARTHER and Winjob CP303 silhouettes. Despite being a more obscure sneaker, the TARTHER has long been an underrated favorite in Japan. For the latest iteration, the shoe is reworked in two vibrant silhouettes: electric blue and bright magenta. In both versions, a multi-colored outsole can be seen with fluorescent yellow tones at the toe and translucent blue at the arch of the foot. Gold speckling also embellishes the colored uppers in both colorways.
As for the Winjob CP303, the model’s origin may come as a surprise to some: the sneaker was initially designed for kitchen staff. Boasting utilitarian features and functional details, the shoe is constructed with VELCRO® straps in place of shoelaces. CdG SHIRT has also tapped Chinese artist Yue Minjun for artwork placed atop the toe box; one of Yue’s unmistakable pink smiling figures can be seen on the sneaker, grinning from ear to ear. Rounding off the sneaker’s unique build is a translucent, slip-resistant outsole.
The COMME des GARÇONS x ASICS TARTHER is expected to launch in February 2021 at stockists such as global Blazer Low Sacai Classic Green Nike Lunar Magista Ii Fk Cargo Khaki Cargo Khaki.
