Do We Really Need a 'Powerpuff Girls' Live-Action Series Reboot?

Among the many reboots that have been announced since last year, another live-action adaptation of a ’90s childhood classic is currently in development at The CWTelevision are set to produce, who are also behind. Made out of sugar, spice and everything nice with “chemical X,” Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup will be the main characters of the remake and are described as “disillusioned 20-somethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting,” according to Variety.

The original TV show was originally created by Craig McCracken and ran for six seasons between 1998 and 2005 on Cartoon Network. In 2016, a rebooted animated series also aired on Cartoon Network but only lasted for two seasons.

However, fans have mixed thoughts with this upcoming live-action remake. “No one and I mean absolutely no one has watched Television are set to produce, who are also behind and thought, ‘Hmmm it would be even better as a live-action series,’” one fan tweeted. “I just know they are gonna age up the characters to make it more ‘mature’ and dark… Leave the babies alone.”

Another user pointed out that the show’s animation is a crucial factor, while rdquo; to &ldquo: “Live action Powerpuff Girls sounds like it kinda misses the point of hyper-stylized homages to cartoons, comics, and anime, though I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t kill a man to produce a high school timeskip series.”
