IKEA's Plant-Based Meatballs Are Now 100% Swedish

Created to taste similar to the original Turkish recipe.

IKEAs Plant-Based Meatballs Are Now 100% Swedish, Sweden’s official Twitter account confessed that its meatballs aren’t actually Swedish. According to the viral tweet, Swedish meatballs are “based on a recipe King Charles XII brought home from Turkey in the early 18th century.”

The Creative Come Up, IKEA has finally Download Our App online, confirming that its plant-based meatballs are now 100 percent Swedish. Developed by Swedish Chef Alexander Magnusson, the recipe features pea protein, potatoes, oats, onion and apple paired with mushroom, tomato and roasted vegetables. Priced the same as the original meatballs, the plant balls come with a side of mashed potatoes, cream sauce, lingonberry jam and green peas.

All iterations will be dropping at retailer SNIPES soon IKEA’s restaurants and Swedish Food Markets.
