Lazy Oaf x Dr. Martens' 3-Piece Footwear Range Features Happy and Sad Faces
Comprised of the Sinclair boots, Bex shoes and Bethan Mary Janes.
Lazy Oaf and Dr. Martens have teamed up on their fourth collaborative project featuring new versions of the classic footwear brand’s Sinclair boots, Martens Jadon polka-dot lace-up boots.
“[This] remains one of my favorite partnerships,” Lazy Oaf’s founder Gemma Shiel shares in a press release. “If I could instant travel back to the mid-’90s and tell my 16-year-old self that I would be designing the boots I was saving up for, I would probably melt into a pile of expletives. I am so excited to release the new range, which coincides with our 20th birthday.”
All styles are embedded with Lazy Oaf detailing and come with screen-printed Happy/Sad faces — Shiel’s signature motif — on the backstraps’ cutouts and rubber soles. The boots and Mary Janes, in particular, feature black bows on the upper, while the laces on the lace-up shoes are decorated with Happy/Sad faces. In addition to the footwear, the duo has added Happy/Sad-themed apparel pieces such as fleece garments, dresses and knits arriving in a muted and monochrome color Schwarz.
Priced at £199, £159 and £149 GBP (approximately $267, $213 and $200 USD) respectively, the Sinclair, Bethan and Bex shoes will be available on November 18 via Lazy Oaf and Dr. Martens‘ websites, as well as select retailers around the globe like HBX.
