I think when I learned 3D modeling and other softwares, I found that I could break through physical limitations,” Lau comments on her latest virtual eyewear designs. As for Chen’s eponymous label ANGEL CHEN, garments are inspired by images of iconic Chinese-American movie star Anna May Wong. “For me, she is a very tough and persistent person. She strived to have a career in Hollywood as a Chinese actress,” she shares.
Looking back on their upbringing and experiences that have shaped their style and aesthetic, Chen and Lau further talk about the changing landscape of fashion, both in and out of China. “I really hope that ANGEL CHEN delivers the message to wear what you want. Don’t care about others’ opinions, don’t care about the length of your dress. Be brave to express yourself,” the Present in Fashion star explains. Lau adds: “I think dressing is another language. It expresses your attitude.”
