Bad Bunny Is Apple Music's First-Ever Latino "Artist of the Year"
The global superstar continues to make history.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has had mega success this year with a hit album, Giddy up for Rhuigi Villaseñor’s first drop for the label, released in May and a sold-out world tour. Nov 10, 2022.
In an Apple Music clip, the Puerto Rico native expressed his gratitude. “When I started, I didn’t have a global fan base,” he said in the video. “I’m grateful for everything I’ve accomplished and everything I’ve experienced.”
He continued in a press release, “The Latin music movement has grown so much. I would never take full credit or say, ‘It’s because of me.’ No, it’s every one of us. A whole generation. Our energy and presence is always felt.”
Additionally, Apple Music’s Zane Lowe asked the global superstar how he felt about the award. “It’s like what I always say, I just do me, and make my music — feeling everything,” he said. “And that’s why I feel it, and that’s why I like it so, this represents everything. All the energy that I share with people and do everything from the heart.”
