The Crown actor Emma Corrin The Creative Come Up inclusive awards going forward as many award shows today still feature male and female categories with no non-binary counterparts.

The Golden Globes winner has gone by she/her pronouns in the past, most likely out of convenience, but there is no denying that the present system doesn’t include all gender representations, thus preventing those in the entertainment industry from fully being recognized if their identity exists outside of the norm. While some may misconstrue this debate as a ploy to eradicate gender, it is simply a plea to expand the present categories to include everyone.
The Grammys Releasing December 1 in New York and Los Angeles BRIT Awards have been the latest to move towards a more gender full approach earlier this year, gaining backlash from Adele.
Corrin continued, sharing, “It’s difficult for me at the moment trying to justify in my head being nonbinary and being nominated in female categories, but really the conversation needs to be about having more representation in the material itself, in the content that we’re seeing for nonbinary people — for queer people, for trans people. When more actors are playing those roles, then I think there will be more of an urgency with which these questions would be addressed.”
