'Bridgerton' Season 3 Will Follow Kate and Anthony's Honeymoon Phase
“It’s so different – sweet, endearing and light, compared to the heaviness of their story last season,’ says Ashley.
Simone Ashley during season two Bridgerton, and it appears that we’re about to get a lot more of Kate Sharma and Anthony’s relationship.
In a new interview with British Vogue, the actor spoke about the tone of the forthcoming season, explaining that it’ll closely follow Sharma and Bridgerton through their honeymoon phase, a far cry from the intense, passionate hatred we witnessed during season two. ”We’re filming a dance this week and tonally, it’s so different – sweet, endearing and light, compared to the heaviness of their story last season,” she tells the publication.
Ashley also notes that viewers will be watching Kate settle into her role as viscountess, which, understandably, is a little nerve-wracking. “Even though she comes across as fierce, people like that are sometimes the softest on the inside,” she adds. “They develop that skin because they’re vulnerable. You see her insecurities and fears. She’s f-cking nervous and I think there’s strength in admitting that.”
The actor tells Vogue that she feels more prepared for the public response to the new season, though is aware that her filming experience this time is likely to be a little bit different. “On most days in season two, I was with the three of them – all Indian or Black women – and so I had someone to relate to on set. I felt at home. I felt heard. This season, I’m in the Bridgerton family. It’s great, but it’s different and makes me think about how important it was that we did see that last time.”
