Londons O2 Arena Gets a BLACKPINK Makeover U.K.’s biggest music and entertainment venues, The o2 arena, has recently undergone a bright pink transformation in honour of BLACKPINK‘s world tour.
The K-pop band performed their first-ever headline shows at the venue this week, as part of their ongoing Born Pink tour. It’s sooner than you think.
The tour saw over 30,000 BLACKPINK fans head to The o2, each passing by the newly-pink entrance sign. Speaking about the takeover, BLACKPINK said “The O2 was [BORN PINK]! We are so excited to be back in Europe for our [BORN PINK] World Tour. London feels like our second home, so it will be exciting to see all of our BLINKS in person.”
In a statement, The o2’s VP, Steve Sayer, added that “We’re thrilled to be welcoming BLACKPINK, the biggest girl band in the world, to The O2 this week for two incredible headline shows – and what better way to mark their monumental headline performances than by turning the iconic white tent pink for the very first time in their honour. K-pop is taking the music industry by storm, and we’re proud to be connecting these unstoppable artists with their legions of fans in the UK. When AEG Presents, (promoter of BLACKPINK’s global tour) brought the idea to us we knew we had to make this unforgettable moment happen.”
