Meghan Markle Wears Princess Diana's Aquamarine Ring From the Royal Wedding
Taking cues from a fashion icon.
Duchess Meghan Markle is the epitome of style and grace, so it comes as no surprise that she borrowed a special stone from her husband’s late mother’s closet.
Markle wore Princess Diana‘s aquamarine engagement ring to this past Tuesday’s Ripple of Hope Awards Gala, pairing the stunning heirloom with a dress fit for a bride as she donned an elegant off-the-shoulder bright white dress.
Following her notorious divorce from Prince Charles, Lady Di reportedly had the ring commissioned in 1996 as a replacement for her engagement ring, according to Page Six. This isn’t the first time the former Suits actor has worn her late mother-in-law’s ring as she chose it as her “something blue” for her 2018 wedding reception.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle were honored at Tuesday’s ceremony for their proven commitment to mental health advocacy, racial justice “and other social impact initiatives through their Archewell Foundation.” The royal couple was recognized as “exemplary leaders across government, point, advocacy and entertainment who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to social change and worked to protect and advance equity, justice and human rights.”
Kerry Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy’s daughter, asserted that the pair possessed the tenacity and moral integrity to face injustices and social issues head on, saying, “They embody the type of moral courage that my father once called the ‘one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change.’”
