Making her the first female superhero in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.

Dakota Johnson is in talks to play Madame Web for Sony Picture’s next standalone Marvel film.

The forthcoming movie will be the entertainment company’s first modern comic book adaptation to feature a female in a title role. S.J. Clarkson (Marvel’s Jessica Jones and The Defenders) will write the screenplay Jared Leto‘s upcoming movie, Morbius, ldquo;Of course my answer is YES.&rdquo.

According to comics, Madame Web is an elderly woman with myasthenia gravis. As a result, she was connected to a spider-web resembling life support system, which in contribution to her age is the reason Madame Web has never actively fought against villains. However, it’s quite possible that may change for the movie adaptation.

Stay tuned for updates on Dakota Johnson’s portrayal of Madame Web.
