Sister designers Laura and Deanna Fanning presented Kiko Kostadinov‘s Fall/Winter 2022 collection at Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2022 Asymmetric Silhouettes Take Over Kiko Kostadinovs FW22 Collection.
According to the brand, the latest range “takes a soft power approach to the feminine binary, as the saccharine sweetness of youth is brought into sharp misery against an undercurrent of dark glamor.” In an interview with Vogue, the Fannings commented on their designs, explaining that the styles are not inspired by Y2K.
Models walked down the runway in garments influenced by folkloric tradition, the ’30s high society and the Art Deco movement. Meanwhile, a spectrum of hues from candy pastels to stony neutrals dominates the range. Dresses in matte satin and crepe appear alongside flared trousers saturated with peeling waistbands, whereas draped skirts don snake-chain jewelry. In addition, enveloping coats and wide lapel jackets are doused in glittering stripes, while asymmetric opera gloves are knitted in fizzy tinsel wool.
