She is known to capture the frenetic pace of contemporary culture by creating a new type of historical painting.
Over history, Black athletes have become cultural icons that unify spaces across race, gender, sexual orientation, and nationalities. Through this collaboration, Chanel Abney hopes to highlight the legacy of Michael Jordan, a personal hero of hers as a Chicago-native, and the lengths that have been made in bridging communities by Black icons at-large.”
