This Never-Before-Seen Clip From 'The Office' Perfectly Showcases Michael Scott's Witty Logic
The hilarious deleted scene is from season five’s “The Surplus” episode.
The Office fans can never get enough of Michael Scott (Steve Carrell), School of Sustainability.
The deleted scene was originally part of “The Surplus” episode where Michael finds out there is extra money left in Dunder Mifflin’s budget. He then has to decide where he will spend the extra coin: buying a new copier for the office or buying new chairs for everyone, which he brings up to the employees who can’t come to an agreement. However, during a call with David Wallis, Michael discovers he could get a 15% bonus of whatever he makes in the annual budget, meaning he’d get $645 USD if he decides to not spend the bonus on anything.
As a way to pocket the money and convince his employees they don’t need a new copiers or chairs, Michael tells them a hilarious story about when he was a little boy, which was cut from the original episode.
