The potential feature allows users to restrict their content to viewers that are 18 and above.
TikTok‘s latest update might include the option for users to restrict their livestreams to viewers that are aged 18 and above.
According to TechCrunch, the video-sharing app is testing the new feature with select users. As spotted in a screenshot, users with access to the potential update can see a button that reads “mature themes,” which allows them to restrict their livestreaming content to adults only. The app notes, “Only viewers 18 and above can see your LIVE,” although any content violating TikTok’s policies — including those on nudity, sexual activity and violence — will still be removed.
The new feature won’t be a way for users to share adult content due to TikTok’s existing policies, but will rather help prevent minors from coming across inappropriate content.
