Parachutes and Pilot's Hats Take Over Holzweiler's SS23 Collection

Share this article See Holzweiler’s SS23 collection above featured a wide range of Scandi designers, from up-and-coming names to regulars like Holzweiler. Helmed by Susanne and Andreas Holzweiler, the Norwegian label invited guests to an indoor venue decorated with large floating balloons, accompanying the sunny Copenhagen sky seen through the building’s glass ceiling.

Titled “In Motion,” the Spring/Summer 2023 collection incorporated parachute-inspired elements into garments and accessories. Ruched details were found on dresses held together with rings, while hanging ripstop cords created a fringe-like effect, contrasting floral prints. These cords were given a fashionable twist, arriving in the form of belts, harnesses, backpack straps and more.

Models walked elegantly down the runway, channeling the dreamy energy that was also expressed through the use of pastel tones including desert dust, travertine, cerulean, cilantro and malachite. The parachute reference was further spotted on headwear created in collaboration with milliner Noel Stewart. Pilot’s hats were crocheted with long tassels, accompanying chains and earrings, as well as backpacks buckled across the body.

Joining CPHFW’s commitment to sustainability, the Danish siblings crafted pieces using recycled nylon, while the floating balloons at the show were made out of deadstock parachutes.
