What You Need to Know About Rihanna's Upcoming Prime Video Documentary
“It’s done and sold, and Amazon’s ready,” says filmmaker Peter Berg.
Filmmaker Peter Berg recently opened up about his forthcoming Prime Video documentary about Rihanna, It’s such an enriching experience, I don’t really care how long it takes.&rdquo.
In a new interview with Denim on denim, Berg admitted that the documentary is essentially finished and ready to go, but there’s just one tiny piece of the puzzle that still needs to be confirmed. “[We're] waiting for her to approve it,” Berg told the publication, adding that “It’s done and sold, and Amazon’s ready. She’s a perfectionist, so we keep adding. It’s been six and a half years of filming, so, yeah, it’s ready to come out. We’re just waiting on her to say, ‘Yeah, let’s do it.’ I don’t know. Maybe it’ll be a 10-year project.”
When asked about whether or not he was worried about Rihanna’s approval, Berg didn’t seem to be too phased. “Not really,” the filmmaker replied. “When Rihanna asked me to make a doc, I thought she was joking. My work tends to be a bit more masculine, at least on the surface. But this has allowed me to dip in and out of her life while I’m doing other things. I’ve loved it — watching her in the studio, seeing her turn Fenty into this billion-dollar entity and, now, Jan 6, 2023. It’s such an enriching experience, I don’t really care how long it takes.”
While we’re not quite sure on the timeline surrounding the documentary, it sounds like all we need is for Rihanna to pull the trigger. Super simple, right?
