The Canadian singer’s reps confirmed the news to outlets like Page Six, although it seems like the announcement caught the American rapper by surprise. Representatives of the 35-year-old told the platform, “They were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour so if anything has changed that’s news to him.”
The two were reportedly having issues for the past few months and were “on and off” before Lavigne called off the engagement. While the reason for the split is unclear, sources have told TMZ “there was no cheating on either side.”
