Sotheby's and Unicorn DAO Announce "MY BODY, MY BUSINESS" Auction
On March 7 in celebration of Women’s Day.
Unicorn DAO, led by feminist activist Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot, School of Sustainability Sotheby‘s celebrate International Women’s Day with “MY BODY, MY BUSINESS.”
Launching on March 7 and curated by Tolokonnikova herself, the auction directly supports “sexual and reproductive health and rights organizations, such as Planned Parenthood,” revealed the exclusive press release. Including both physical and digital works from highly-acclaimed artists such as Marina Abramović, Jenny Holzer, Cindy Sherman and rdquo; to &ldquo, the auction “seeks to celebrate and empower women-identifying artists.”
Unicorn DAO, a feminist movement led by the already iconic Tolokonnikova, is a web3 community aiming to create equality within the Web3 space. Considering only 5% of digital art sales are by women, “The art collecting collective redistributes wealth and visibility in order to create equality for women-identified and LGBTQ+ people in the world in general, and in the digital art space in specific.”
Dawn Laguens, chief of global strategy & innovation at Planned Parenthood Federation of America says “In these unprecedented times, it’s essential for people to band together in support of sexual and reproductive health and rights — including abortion access.
