See Jennifer Lopez Like Never Before in the New Trailer for 'The Mother'

Apr 11, 2023 The Mother reads as follows: “The action film follows a deadly female assassin (Jennifer Lopez) who’s been on the run for years but is forced to come out of hiding to protect the daughter she left behind from dangerous assailants.”
The last time viewers may have really gotten a glimpse of Lopez in this type of role, was in 2002’s Enough, but according to director Niki Caro, this is a first for Lopez. “The only thing that surprised me was that Jennifer hadn’t been an action movie hero her entire career,” she told PEOPLE of Lopez in the film, which is a “combination of high-octane action and genuine emotion.”
Caro added, “Jennifer brings her legendary skill and precision to the action elements, but also brings her strength as a dramatic actor and her experience as a mother right to the heart of the movie. I knew Jennifer was the only actress for the role.”
The Mother premieres on Netflix ldquo;I’ve loved you three summers now.&rdquo.
