UPDATE (April 21, 2023): Kim Petras has finally released her collab with Nicki Minaj titled “Alone.”

The new track offers modern-day vibes with a mix of the ’90s as it samples Alice Deejay’s “Better Off Alone.”

Kim Petras is giving us the collab we never knew we needed — a Nicki Minaj feature Apple Music, “It doesn’t feel real still. Her singing ‘it’s Barbie and it’s Kim Petras,’ I cried, I was on the floor and then she calls me Kim Petty in it, which all my friends are like, ‘how do we not come up with that our entire lives?’ So she just changed my life in so many ways with that verse and that verse rips, I love her and I’m so inspired by her always, it’s crazy to me. I don’t know how she does it, but she’s just the greatest ever.”

ORIGINAL STORY (April 7, 2023): Kim Petras is giving us the collab we never knew we needed — a Nicki Minaj feature.

ldquo;Alone” drops on April 21. Listen to a snippet below Instagram to tease the upcoming single; she shared a video of herself answering a phone as a snippet of the song plays in the background. “Yeah, It’s Barbie and it’s Kim Petras,” Minaj is heard saying in the intro, which samples Alice Deejay’s “Better Off Alone,” released in 1999.

Petras recently opened up about the impact female artists have had both on pop music and her career, which makes this song even more fitting. “Women in pop music were my only friends in high school,” she told Billboard. “They were everything I wanted to be and [gave me] the strength I [needed] to transition and live my life authentically. They gave me the strength to be myself.”
